Join the ICAA Rocky Mountain Chapter for our first Columns & Culinary experience! This evening will explore how traditional cooking methods influence a prominent modern chef to create palettes that are ‘Masterful Simplicity.’
Colorado Restaurant Association's Chef of the Year Linda Hampsten Fox has evolved through the years from an art student to an athlete to a chef, deeply dedicated to her changing craft—every meal a blank canvas, every event an opportunity to create. Inspired by her family roots and worldwide travels, Linda transforms classic ingredients and traditional recipes into masterful art that is rooted in simplicity.
"Linda Hampsten Fox is a rare breed. Many a chef possesses boundless passion or uncompromising vision or consummate skill; very few exhibit all three. She does. Her food's breathtakingly risky—or would be in lesser hands. In her hands it all makes memorably delicious sense." - Ruth Tobias, food & beverage writer
Linda Hampsten Fox is the creative force and mind behind The Bindery—an all-day bakery, market and eatery in the Lower Highlands neighborhood of Denver. The Colorado Restaurant Association named her Chef of the Year in 2018. Chef Linda has over twenty-five years of professional cooking experience and an impressive portfolio of references including Dr. Jane Goodall, Michael York, Nancy Pelosi, Dave Matthews, Melissa Etheridge, Tom Shadyac, Nic & Helen Foster of Boulder-based E-Town, former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper.
She perfected her craft while apprenticing with chefs in Switzerland, Italy and France from the hotel kitchens on the Cote d’Azur to precious vineyards in Tuscany and mountain chalets in Switzerland. While her culinary passion is Mediterranean cuisine, her extensive travels have given her an intimate knowledge of food trends and cultures from all over the world. And through all this, the simple beauty and importance of gathering around the table has become undeniable.
No stranger to the arts, Chef Linda earned her fine arts degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. This art influence is evident in her cuisine, as every plate is a new canvas and a work of art.
